Lakewood police said Ana Gabriella Mayorga-Baires, 28, was killed in the crash. Officers responded to the wreck at the intersection of New Hampshire Avenue and Erica Road just after 5:30 p.m.
When police arrived, a 67-year-old man told officers he was driving south on New Hampshire Avenue when he hit someone with his SUV. The driver said he didn't see Mayorga-Baires before hitting her, but he stayed at the scene to wait for first responders.
Mayorga-Baires was rushed to a hospital and was pronounced dead at around 6:15 p.m. No charges or summonses have been filed, but the crash remains under investigation.
